The user of the “library” loves to browse through his collection of books to sketch his ideas. The design is to create a miniature library as a wall of bookshelves and present the book collections in a few different ways for the user to interact with his own collections. Further, since The Library is like a study note to the user himself, it also becomes a tool for him to communicate to others about his findings and thoughts.

Concept
We imagine the bookshelf is like a 2D map of information storage- It is divided into zones, sections. Books, magazine and collection items are allowed to present in several different way, like how the bookshop and museum present multimedia information.
The library works as a screen to seperate the entrance corridor and the study. The entrance corridor is defined as a “mud room”, and the back of shelves are a wall of storages and clothes hangers.

Production
The joinery is designed with modules. This allows easier storage planning and also easier for communications and productions. The opening-closing mechanism is designed so that, in both situations, the doors can stay, and door surfaces can be used to display books/magazines. Each mechanism is carefully checked, tested and fine-tuned during production.
